Triplet Baby Shower

Megan Merry

Not too often do I get a request to design a sweet, classic, vintage-inspired baby shower invitations for a couple preparing for TRIPLETS... but that is exactly what happened a few months ago. ♡♡♡

This design included a custom lined envelope, invitation and return address stickers. The baby shower invitations were digitally printed on a thick 120# bright white stock.

Ice Cream First Birthday

Megan Merry

Hanging onto the last days of summer, we threw an ice cream birthday party for a special one year old.

A lot of fun went into the planning and execution of this party. I gathered inspiration from Van Leeuwen artisan ice cream (I have a serious crush on their branding) and Oh Happy Day!

Obviously a favorite part of any party planning for me are the invitations... I had tons of ideas, but they just weren't doing it for me. Then around 4 pm on a Saturday I thought: why not just do a quick photo shoot with balloons, party hats and waffle cones!? One quick trip (with a 10-month-old) to Target later, I had all my supplies.

The next morning during her nap time, I blew up some balloons to make a "1" and got ready for my shoot. I spent about 4-6 hours preparing for what turned out being just a 5 minute shoot, but it was super fun and (I think) turned out great!

My mom made that
birthday cake!

Of course, no birthday is complete without thank you notes. ;)

These birthday invitations were printed digitally on a thick bright white paper stock. I used a turquoise envelope and the classic ice cream sundae postage (for obvious reasons).

Alexis + Jonathan

Megan Merry

Literally obsessed with our invites.
Thank you for everything!!!!
— Alexis Blaue, bride

As soon as I launched Megan + Jane, I received an email from the sweetest, most organized and enthusiastic bride-to-be. We met via FaceTime one evening to talk about what she and her fiance envisioned for their wedding.

Their colors were navy and gold – she wanted something elegant, something sparkly, and among other descriptive terms, she mentioned the Disney classic "Beauty and the Beast".

I wanted her to feel like Belle.

When she said "Beauty and the Beast," all I could think about was the shape in the bottom of Belle's ballroom gown. The shape of curtains on a theatrical stage. That shape became my inspiration.

To carry out the rest of the look, I paired a sans serif and script font. These were printed offset on a beautiful, thick navy paper stock. I matched the gold ink printed on the invites with the gold envelope. A glittery belly band and envelope liner tied the whole look together.

The Sarah Vaughan stamps at the post office couldn't have been better timed – I loved how the colors in the stamp complimented the look.

Working with these two was an absolute joy. They are spirited, fun, and so in love. It's contagious!

I couldn't be more thrilled with how their wedding invitations turned out.

Happy 1 Year Wedding Anniversary, Alexis and Jonathan!

Wedding PARTY Invitations

Megan Merry

Exactly one year ago today some terrific friends of ours got married! I was honored to have been asked to I design their wedding PARTY invites shortly after they got engaged. The direction they provided was “colorful” and “PARTY!”…

So with a cocktail in hand, LCD Soundsystem on the stereo, and a few late evenings with Daphne Jane—BOOM! Erik and Lisa’s wedding PARTY invitations were born.

Between the size, the verbiage and bright colors—these wedding invitations are anything but traditional. But then, our friends aren't traditional either. They are some of the most fun and considerate people I know (seriously, my face usually hurts after spending a day with them from all the laughs). I am so happy to have been part of their big day, and watch their marriage blossom since. Love you guys. ♥

These large (9 x 6 inches!) invitations were digitally printed on bright white, ultra-smooth Finch cardstock. I chose to pair them with a translucent envelope so the bright colors would greet the guests right out of the mailbox. A custom return-address stamp was an additional detail, completing the final look.

Navy + Gold Bridal Shower Invitations

Megan Merry

Just a few weeks ago the sweetest bride was showered by family and friends. She’s a bit of a foodie, so the shower was centered around sharing delicious recipes and helping her stock the kitchen.

While I’m not the best in the kitchen, I was able to experiment with some ingredients to create a memorable bridal shower invitation. The bride’s wedding colors are navy and gold, so I thought it the perfect occasion to use a medium I’ve been dying to play with: SPRAY PAINT! After hand-lettering her name and parts of the instruction card, I created a stencil to spray paint gold metallic* onto the paper.

*Fun fact: Being that we’re pregnant and spray paint fumes can be harmful, my husband offered to spray painted every invite for the shower by hand. (Seriously, I'm a lucky gal.)

The end result: Absolutely stunning!

The paper used is Curious Metallics in Ice Silver, which has a luxurious shimmer look to it. These were digitally printed with navy ink, then spray painted in gold metallic by hand.

Intimate Winter Wedding Bridal Shower Invitations

Megan Merry

A few short months ago I had the pleasure of working with the most amazing mom of the most beautiful bride! She asked me to create some bridal shower invitations to accompany her daughter’s upcoming rustic-chic, intimate winter wedding. (More on her daughter's wedding later!)

These invitations were printed digitally on a thick, crisp white stock of paper and paired with a burgundy envelope, providing the elegant look the bride was after.
