1st Birthday - Megan

Such a fun invitation to receive in the mail!
Really set the tone my granddaughter’s first birthday.
— Grandma

Our daughter was born just four days after my birthday (which was really the best birthday present anyone could ask for!). For her first birthday, I may have sneaked my name onto the invitation, but the celebration was all about her. I had the best time planning and executing her first birthday party.

Since our birthdays are in August, an ice cream inspired theme only seemed appropriate. I called it "Sundaes on Sunday," and chose an ice cream inspired color scheme (bright pastel colors you'd find with flavors like strawberry, blueberry, or mint chocolate chip).

Once the mood board was created, I got rolling on the invitations and decorations.

I planned and executed a photo shoot (where I blew up pink balloons to make a giant "1", bought party hats, waffle cones and "art directed" a 10-month old – she did great!). I used a photo I took for the invitations, and used the outtakes in party decorations (homemade ice cream menu sign and ice cream topping station cards).

Stickers were also part of the fun. I designed little ice cream cones with a cherry on top that I gave the kids (and some adults) to wear at the party.

These invitations were printed digitally on a 120# uncoated paper stock to give them a soft and sweet feel, perfect for a first birthday. I chose a matte teal envelope, addressed them in manuscript with a black marker, and used the classic ice cream sundae postage.

Birthday parties are my jam. Whether it's your child's first birthday, or your 36th birthday – it's worth celebrating! If you're interested in getting an estimate, let's talk.
